Transparency Envisions Celebrates Juneteenth In Brooklyn NY
It was fascinating for Transparency Envisions to celebrate the history of Juneteenth as a form of cultural art, geared towards the healing process, by providing support to youths and their families.
As plethora’s of street festivals, fairs, concerts, and other events were taking place in Brooklyn, and other parts of the globe, Transparency Envisions & NYPD Dance captured the true essence of Juneteenth in choreography and dance under the theme unity, peace and freedom.
It was indeed a journey of rhythm and culture as the rich tapestry of human expression was celebrated.
It was also a fitting tribute to the historic PS 219 Kennedy King School nestled on 1060 Clarkson Ave. in Brooklyn. The red, black, and green African Liberation balloons that decorated the school’s entrance historically displayed the bloodshed and sacrifice of enslaved ancestors, the symbolism of black people everywhere and the richness of the motherland.
In deep emotions expressing joy, sorrow and love through intricate movements and haunting melodies, young dancers dressed in vibrant dresses, collaborated in close embrace, responding and synchronizing to musical beats, while captivating the audience with intricate footwork’s, handclaps, songs and dramatic poses.
